As we commemorate yet another 150th anniversary I've run across some interesting items on the web today:
- The Civil War Trust has produced another of their well done animated battle maps, and once again has released it just in time for the Chickamauga anniversary. It loads a bit slow (at least on my computer) but it's well worth your time.
- The Civil War Trust is also featuring a live twitter feed that will follow the unfolding events of the battle in real time over the next few days.
- NPR has a piece commemorating Chickamauga that highlights portraits of Braxton Bragg and William S. Rosecrans from the National Portrait Gallery.
- Finally, those of us who can't be in attendance at the commemorative events presented by the National Park Service can follow on Facebook by liking Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park. The very same NPS social media team that has done such a great job at other recent commemorative events will provide excellent coverage over the next several days.
